This report is suitable for applicants who are planning to become a teacher or substitute teacher. Student teaching subject(s) will be specifically identified if applicable.

General Required Documentation

*You must submit an application and obtain a reference# before sending ERES any documents. We are not responsible for any documents that arrive without a reference#.

  • Original Degree Certificate / Diploma
  • Original Transcript or Marksheet in Native Language
  • Scanned copy of Thesis/Dissertation (for PhD programs only)
  • Teacher’s Certificate (if apply)

  • Official English Translation of the Degree Certificate / Diploma and Transcripts or Marksheet if the language of instruction was not English

Requirement Details

ERES requires a precise, accurate, word by word translation for each document submitted in a language other than English.

List of acceptable translations:

  • Translation from an ATA member
  • School-issued official Translation
  • Translation from a professional translator or translation agency

Extra Copies

The initial evaluation only includes one official evaluation copy in a sealed envelope. Each additional official sealed copy is $25 with the initial evaluation.

FAQs

  • Will a degree from a foreign country work in the USA for teaching?

    Mostly yes, given that it is from an accredited institution, recognized in the United States, and evaluated by an approved evaluation agency.

  • What certification/course should a foreign non-immigrant do to become a full-time teacher in the USA?

    Some of the requirements are provided by the state teaching commission. Most require a bachelor’s degree or equivalence. If international, you may also be required to provide a teaching certificate.
    Other documents requirements will be addressed by each state, like passing certain exams, background checks, and other appropriate assessments for educators.

    Start by applying to an evaluation agency approved by the state board.
    Following the instruction on applying and providing the necessary documentation to the agency will help you issue a CES report.
